Pennington Wharf development

Leigh is well known for it’s spinning, coal mining and engineering background. Mining subsidence’s and flooding have caused flashes, the most notable being Pennington Flash, which is now a 170 acre lake surrounded by the country park and nature reserve.

In Leigh, you can find all of the amenities required for daily life including primary and secondary schools, supermarkets, post offices, convenience stores and indoor markets. There are a range of leisure facilities including a multiplex cinema and the sports centre, which is home to Leigh Centurions and Manchester United Reserves.
